Our Commitment
We operate a zero‑tolerance policy towards racist language, gestures, symbols, or behaviour. Every WFC match, training session, media event, and digital space is governed by our Anti‑Racism Code of Conduct:
- Respect first: Treat all people fairly regardless of race, colour, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or culture.
- Speak up: Players, staff, media teams, partners, and fans are encouraged to report abuse immediately.
- Swift action: Incidents are recorded, investigated, and sanctioned. Evidence is shared with relevant authorities.
- Education: All personnel receive training on anti‑racism, bystander intervention, and reporting routes.
Matchday Protocols & Sanctions
If racist abuse is detected or reported during a WFC event, the following steps may occur:
- Stadium announcement reminding spectators of zero tolerance and how to report.
- Temporary match halt while security identifies offenders; repeat offences can lead to abandonment.
- Removal & bans for perpetrators; reports filed to local authorities and governing bodies.
- Support for victims including immediate safeguarding and follow‑up welfare check.
Note: Sanctions may include stadium bans, partner termination, accreditation withdrawal, and referral to police.
Online Abuse
Online racism is still racism. We preserve evidence (screenshots, URLs, timestamps), report to platforms, and escalate to law enforcement where appropriate. Players and staff are supported to use platform safety tools and to file formal reports.
How to Report Racism
Use any of these routes. If in immediate danger in the UK, dial 999.
- Inside a WFC venue: alert stewards or staff; we will record details and act.
- After the event: email our safeguarding team at safeguarding@worldfootballclassics.org.
- Governing bodies & human‑rights organisations: see official links below.
